What’s your role at bunny.money?

I’m one of the three co-founders of bunny.money and I lead engineering. My job includes implementing the infrastructure, making sure our projects are safe from risks, improving code, and evaluating the associated tasks of development. I also collect feedback from our team members and users, design project outlines, and develop appropriate content that meets our company and customers’ needs. In other terms, I take care of the back-end: I build and maintain the technology that powers the user-facing side of the application. Like the other team members, I’m multitasked in participating in the development of our business model and contributing to the strategic decisions for the company, from marketing to how we implement our roadmap. My background is in high tech engineering, with experience at aeronautical, aerospace, communications, and tech companies such as Ifremer, iXblue, Advantone and Zodiac data systems.

“Growing up middle class, I know firsthand the importance of saving money. I wanted to find a way to do good for the community around me while using my knowledge and experience in high tech.”

When I was a kid, I had this crazy idea to build a machine that could launch us on the moon 🌙. What seemed like a crazy idea at that time, sounds very differently as the space conquest continues to progress 🚀. You can make your dreams happen. Over time I developed an interest in technology and coding but also using them for good purposes. Growing up middle class, I know firsthand the importance of saving money. I wanted to find a way to do good for the community around me while using my knowledge and experience in high tech. Environmental causes have also been a passion of mine, so when Fabien, Thomas, and I came together we quickly aligned on bunny.money’s mission. We want to build a fairer and more sustainable society and are using the tools we have to make a difference.

What is a perfect day at work for you?

I would say the perfect day is when our team has the ability to meet in person, like when we got together at the Palais Brongniart in Paris last December 🎉!

“A perfect day is punctuated with a lot of message notifications. To me, it means there is a collective dynamism, an enthusiasm, an excitement in working. Especially right now as we are launching our crowdfunding campaign which is off to a great start.”

In my routine, the first thing I do is to call Thomas RamĂ© on Slack 😄. It feels like we are working physically together. Working remotely can be challenging at times, so I like to engage a lot and make calls every day. A perfect day is punctuated with a lot of message notifications. It can be about application bugs, new feature suggestions, deliverables, or even marketing content we are excited about
It means there is a collective dynamism, an enthusiasm, an excitement at work which is empowering. Especially right now as we are launching our crowdfunding campaign which is off to a great start. My ideal day ends with the implementation of something I spent hours developing - this sense of achievement is what keeps me going. After work, I enjoy doing sports, such as biking or running, and putting on a great playlist. Currently, I get a lot of work done at La Cantine Numérique (a working space in Nantes) and always try to bike there.

What keeps you up at night?

My son! I have been a dad since December, and it definitely keeps me up at
night đŸ‘¶!

Anything exciting you’re working on that you want to share with us?

Well, everything is exciting at bunny.money! Recently, we have been working on the mobile app, which has finally been released! As of today, we are working on stabilization – fixing bugs, and trying to find durable solutions to make our development environment safe for the future. But of course, we are continually working on new features that should make a huge difference in the near future!

What’s your favorite cause to support?

My parents have always made me mindful of Mother Nature... Growing up, my father and I would spend quality time together picking mushrooms 🍄 and chopping down trees. He taught me the art of carpentry and how to respectfully repurpose the wood from trees. Today, I mainly continue to support environmental causes and local nonprofits đŸŒ±.

What do you do outside of work?

Outside of work, I am passionate about sports, including gravel riding, running, and climbing 🧗. It’s a source of inspiration that allows me to relax and focus more. I fell in love with nature as a kid and I love camping, sleeping in my Renault Kangoo (converted van), and hiking in the PyrĂ©nĂ©es mountains ⛰. I also love listening to music. When I’m working I often put some on. I have played guitar since I was younger and hope this year I can continue playing with my wife, Juliette.

Finally, I love to cook and I share this pleasure with my wife who always comes up with amazing cooking ideas!
